Assistant Professor
University of Michigan
Jasmine A. Luzum (formerly Talameh), PharmD, PhD, FHFSA, FAHA is an Assistant Professor in the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She earned her PharmD summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Science (with a focus on pharmacogenomics) from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical pharmacology and pharmacogenomics at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. During her research training, Jasmine continued her connections to pharmacy practice by volunteering in heart failure clinics and working part-time as a community pharmacist. Her experiences led Jasmine to become dual certified as both a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and an Applied Pharmacologist by the American Board of Clinical Pharmacology.
The goal of Jasmine's clinical & translational research lab is to improve cardiovascular medication outcomes and disparities using precision medicine. Her research spans many different cardiovascular indications (e.g., heart failure, myocardial infarction, and hyperlipidemia) and approaches (e.g., genomics, health disparities, and bioinformatics). Her research has been funded by multiple prestigious organizations (e.g., NIH, American Heart Association, American College of Clinical Pharmacy); published in high-impact journals (e.g., Circulation and Cell Metabolism); and presented at major conferences (e.g., American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association Scientific Sessions).
