Policy Analyst
US Food and Drug Administration
Sarah Ridge, PhD currently works as a policy analyst with the Guidance and Policy Team within the Office of Clinical Pharmacology at the FDA. She completed her PhD at the National University of Ireland Galway researching how the interaction between prostate cancer cells and bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells could promote tumor progression. Her interest in the tumor microenvironment brought her to Duke University where she investigated the invasion of leukemic cells to the central nervous system through a novel neuronal mechanism. This invasion pathway was found to be PI3K-dependent and therefore a promising clinical target. Experience in clinical trial development and design stimulated an interest in regulatory science and policy and before joining FDA fulltime she completed an ORISE fellowship researching and evaluating trends in clinical pharmacology related postmarketing studies. Sarah has been a member of ASCPT since 2020 and currently serves on the regulatory science community steering committee.
