Dr. Shahrzad Movafagh is an associate professor of pharmacology and pharmacogenomics at Shenandoah University school of pharmacy and INOVA center for personalized health (ICPH). Dr. Movafagh obtained her PharmD degree from University of California San Francisco with an emphasis on pharmacogenomics. She further obtained her PhD in pharmacology from Georgetown University Medical Center and completed Clinical Pharmacy Residency training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC. She is a recipient of NRSA postdoctoral fellowship award in pharmacology from NIH. Dr. Movafagh has been a faculty member at Shenandoah University for 11 years and has presented her research at various national and international conferences. The focus of her research has been studying the effects of hypoxic signaling in renal pathology and therapeutics.
