Postdoc
University of California, San Francisco
Rob Christiaan van Wijk, PhD (he/him), is a postdoc at the Savic Integrative Pharmacology Research Laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He earned his PhD from Leiden University, The Netherlands with a thesis on translational pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics in zebrafish, integrating experimental and computational methods. After his PhD, he worked as a postdoc with prof. Ulrika Simonsson at Uppsala University, Sweden, focussing on clinical pharmacology and the analysis of several Phase I, II, and III trials in tuberculosis and COVID-19, as well as continuing his work in translational pharmacology from in vitro and in vivo to patients. His research focus is on knowledge integration in global health through pharmacometrics, to achieve equity in health care of tuberculosis, HIV, and other diseases by combining complementary data across the drug development stages using computational models. Rob van Wijk is the incoming vice-chair for ASCPT's Global Health community.
