Assistant Research Professor
Indiana University
Dr. Nicholas R Powell, PharmD, is currently an Assistant Research Professor at the Indiana School of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology. He earned his PharmD from Butler University in 2013 during which time he helped develop a drug target inhibition assay in Dr. Erkine's laboratory. He then worked at Eli Lilly and Company for 6 years where he contributed to the experimental development and regulatory submissions of several large molecule API manufacturing changes. His current work focuses on identifyting and characterizing functional variants in pharmacogenes. His long term goal is to better understanding the combined effect of multiple variants on multiple layers of control over gene function to more precisely predict drug response phenotypes.
