Lorenzo Flori, MS, Pharm D, is a PhD student at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Pisa, Italy. After his master's degree in Pharmacy earned from the University of Pisa, he obtained a 1-year research grant in the field of pharmacology and then began a PhD student in the science of drugs and bioactive substances. During the PhD period he acquired knowledge and methods in the pharmacological field regarding preclinical in vitro and in vivo models and computational models for the study of the gosotransmitter H2S and its modulation for the treatment of age-related pathologies such as cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. Lorenzo Flori spent a period as a visiting PhD student in the laboratory of Professor Rada Savic (UCSF, Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences, San Francisco, CA, USA) where he worked with pharmacometric models on lesion PK and PK/PD for the evaluation of the efficacy and safety of new regimens with the goal of identifying optimal treatment strategies for drugs-sensitive tuberculosis.
