PhD Candidate
Washington State University
Rakshit is currently a PhD candidate at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (2013) and his Master of Pharmacy specializing in medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry (2015) at the University of Mumbai, India. Rakshit has worked as a senior research associate at the Biocon Bristol-Myers Squibb Research & Development Center (BBRC) for close to 3 years. While at BBRC, he facilitated drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics aspects in small molecule drug discovery and development. He holds experience in enzyme kinetics, in vitro to in vivo correlations for drug clearance predictions, drug-drug interaction predictions, reaction phenotyping, metabolite identification and bioanalysis of small molecules. Rakshit’s current research focuses on assessing pharmacokinetic drug interaction potential of various natural products, including kratom, goldenseal, and green tea, via in vitro to in vivo extrapolation approaches incorporating in vitro, in silico, and clinical pharmacokinetic evaluations.
