Angela Elma Edwina, MSc, PharmD is a PhD researcher in the Gerontology and Geriatric research unit at University of Leuven - KU Leuven, Belgium. Her PhD topic is gastrointestinal physiology and pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics in geriatric patients to gain more insight into drug absorption in this unique population. She strives to establish the most effective treatment guidelines for frail older people who are the largest medication users yet underrepresented in drug trials, using well-designed clinical trials and computer-based mathematical modeling. She earned her PharmD and completed residency at the Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. She has an MSc from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, where she had opportunities to conduct research and publish papers in clinical pharmacology area, especially therapeutic drug monitoring, model-informed precision dosing and pharmacokinetics modeling.
