Dr. Ryota Tanaka, Ph.D., is currently an Associate Professor & Deputy Director at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy at Oita University Hospital in Japan. He earned his Ph.D. from Kumamoto University in 2014. After entering the current department, he has been engaged in the infection control team and in TDM work. His current main research contents are associated with pharmacokinetics, TDM, and adverse effects of drugs, which originated from the clinical questions that occurred during the above-mentioned tasks. To date, he has examined some research and established novel pieces of evidence regarding the pharmacokinetics and adverse effects of anti-microbial agents, anti-cancer drugs, and immunosuppressive drugs. Recently, he has launched pharmacokinetic studies using endogenous substrates of CYP3A and OATP1B. He has been a member of the Japan Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics since 2020. He has been currently working in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center as a visiting researcher since 2022.
