Dean Bottino, PhD, is currently senior scientific director and group lead for Oncology Quantitative Solutions at Takeda Pharmaceuticals. He earned his PhD from Tulane University in 1996 and continued his research on spatiotemporal modeling of eukaryotic cell motility and chemotaxis at Univeristy of Utah and UC Berkeley. Dr. Bottino then moved into industry, joining Physiome Sciences in 2001, co-founding the BioAnalytics Group LLC in 2003, then moving on to Novartis in 2005, Roche in 2011, and Takeda in 2013. He has specialized in preclinical and clinical modeling and simulation in oncology since 2005. His most recent peer-reviewed contributions include characterizing paradoxical behavior of RECIST progression-free survival, applying novel dose optimization methodology for oncology novel-novel combination therapies, and promoting the use of fit-for-purpose quantitative systems pharmacology modeling in immuno-oncology.
